It is - I'm thinking about switching to Nextcloud Mail, but currently, there's a big problem - why can't we align photos in the editor? And also, the editor is unusable in dark mode because of the colors (see below).

Photo aligning

It needs fixes, like including an plug-in for the CKEditor for aligning photos/pictures. Currently, there is no way to align the photos for some reason. The editor now looks like this:

=> Unlike in CKEditor's demo, the toolbar for photos is missing.

Wrong colours in dark mode

The CKEditor used is unusable, when Nextcloud is set to dark mode. see below:

Describe alternatives you've considered

Using other email client, but none of them integrate into Nextcloud.

Additional context

I'm thinking about trying to fit this, but I'm not much experienced in Vue.js, so I'd love it, if anyone help out with this.

I agree with the missing feature and the dark mode issue of ckeditor.

I’ll be unavailable to actively contribute to the enh/ckeditor-image_toolbar-and-darkmode branch until after August 15th.
However, I’ll still be able to review code or provide feedback during that time if needed.
Feel free to experiment or contribute — I’ll gladly support where I can.
Currently, I’m trying to solve an issue where the image toolbar doesn’t show up in SignatureSettings.vue — neither does the hint bar (which I assume is the same one). It is given the _visible class, but it is set to top: -9999px; left: -9999px for some reason.

Progress update: I haven't been able to code for a weak as I was switching pcs and now the school year is starting. But I hope I'll be able to return here in few days. Sorry for the delay.

Just a quick update for anyone reading this - the darkmode color fix is already merged into main, the image align is still not resolved, but it has an open (unfortunately not yet 100% complete) pr.
