Hi,

I'm fairly new to mining and encountered this issue.

Device is running too hot! Performance is degraded issue for the past couple of days.
It's saying around 62 - 68 degrees which I think is not that hot.
I'm using a laptop with 3070 and amd 5900hx cpu

Tried the following already:
disable device power mode settings
installed msi afterburner but temperature limit is disabled
Using a laptop cooler

What are other options I could do to have this issue resolved?

Thanks!

I found the issue, excavator is reading the integrated graphics hotspot temp for some reason..
I downloaded asus tweak iii and set gpu temp.

Upon restarting device, make sure to set the monitor that it will not turn off on idle, if the monitor turns off, excavator switches to reading integrated graphics sensors (I don't know why).

Read some articles about putting hdmi dummy plug so it wouldn't switch reading to integrated graphics.
will update this thread once I receive the dummy plug if it will work.

Update: hdmi dummy plug works. system should detect dummy plug as another monitor.
In the display settings, multiple displays
Show only 2. it will turn off your laptop screen, then keystroke tab and enter to keep the changes.
To go back to your laptop screen, just unplug the dummy hdmi.. HTH
