In googling around I came across an SO describing what looks like the same thing:
On linuxmint (18.2.Sonya):

I did a --force-test and all appeared well. Then again, I'm not doing anything demanding with IP5, just trying to pursue the still-not-yet-unresolved https://stackoverflow.com/questions/55799219/altering-parameters-in-dataprinter-in-perl6
