Is this abandoned just like tdqm was before fork?

If so, should community fork and keep it alive?

Is there an existing updated fork?

The author of DreamPie doesn't appear to be maintaining it. It would be cool to have a maintained version for sure. I don't know of any maintained fork.

It seems to me that a major drawback of DreamPie is it doesn't work under Python 3. (You can run Python 3 inside DreamPie, but DreamPie itself won't run under Python 3, so you always need Python 2 installed.) As far as I can tell, the PyGTKSourceview library that DreamPie relies on has not been ported to Python 3, so moving DreamPie forward to Python 3 may be a tall order. Right now DreamPie is one of the last things keeping me using Python 2 as my main version.

If someone wants to fork it, that would be great. The project is, well, "pining for the fjords".

For example, there's a pretty important bug fix in the repo: "Python 3.3 the site-packages directory wasn't added to sys.path." but the Windows EXE doesn't include it because the last release was on 2012/10/18.

And like BrenBarn pointed out, it doesn't work under Python 3.
