Hi, I have installed GPT4All version V3.7.0. I believe it is the latest version, since it has been only a few days. But when I used it to download a few language models, I found some issues: first the chat template is lost, so I searched around, and I found the following so-called: default chat template:

By the way, I found other issues: there are 2 small size of language models: "Qwen/Qwen2-0.5B-Instruct-GGUF", & ""Mini Orca (Small)", I can chat with those language models inside the Chat gui, but if I setup local server and to use API, I can test them using PostMan to send HTTP request, I can send this get HTTP request without issue: curl --location 'http://localhost:4891/v1/models' => I got quite a lot of responses:

=> I did not receive any answer back, instead, I found the chat GUI crashed and quit, so no response I can get.
Please advise how to fix those issues.
I am using Windows 11 24H2, I can install the GPT4All software, and I can run some big size language models, but their response time is too slow, so I need some language models which can provide fast response to my questions.

Same here, with the chat template default sample, windows 10, but no crashing.

The chat template you are trying to use is completely wrong for this model. The model does not feature a jinja chat template in its tokenizer_config.json (Tag: no-chat-template), but the model authors and TheBloke recommend a Vicuna 1.1 prompte template, which is something like this:

A chat between a curious user and an artificial intelligence assistant. The assistant gives helpful, detailed, and polite answers to the user's questions.

ASSISTANT:

Since GPT4All now uses jinja formatted templates, you have to translate that into jinja style. It would be something closer to the following:
