Multiple Authors in a Multilingual Environment

My website is multilingual with multiple author settings. However, when I switched to the second language and clicked on an author profile, which is defined in data/authors/firstAuthor.json, it directed the users back to the English version page (the default language), which is _index.md located in content/authors/firstAuthor. I do have a _index.zh-tw.md file in the same location.

The strangest aspect of this issue is that when I show the author badge and click on it, it directs me to the correct page, which is http://localhost:1313/zh-tw/authors/firstAuthor/.

I tried to create a second file, such as data/authors/firstAuthor.zh-tw.json. It worked to display the information in the author profile in the second language only if I set the authors parameter in the article as authors: "firstAuthor.zh-tw", but the clickable link would direct the users to a 404 page because the URL would be http://localhost:1313/authors/firstAuthor.zh-tw/ instead.

Does anyone know how to update the author profile links in this theme or how to fix this problem in another way?
