Indieweb and Fediverse for Comments

My understanding is that the fediverse (mastodon, etc...) supports webmentions for posted links by default. This means the theme could support a comment system pretty easily if it is indieweb enabled (the hugo blog is notified every time someone comments on a posted link via the fediverse or webmention). Getting blowfish support for indieweb seems pretty easy - https://www.amitgawande.com/2018/02/10/204300.html

What's required is a way to display those comments. Is this a direction that is interesting for blowfish?

I think the hard work has been done to show the comments in themes like https://github.com/AngeloStavrow/indigo and https://github.com/victoriadrake/neofeed-theme but whatever I do would be an ugly hack.

I've been fiddling and tried to add a comments.html with the following:

I've got the webmention.min.js from https://github.com/PlaidWeb/webmention.js

Nothing is displayed (apart from the <h3>Comments</h3>)

Can anyone point me to where I could diagnose because I don't see any errors being thrown?

I got it working! I used the hints from #28 to properly pass in the javascript and it worked.
The comments block still looks ugly but you can see how it works here https://omaramin.me/posts/pistreamer/
