not opening the browser

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. insert something to search for
2. press the Search button

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
It should open the gnome default browser with the google search results for 
my query. Instead, nothing happens.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
1.6, Ubuntu 9.10, Google Chrome as default browser (tryed also setting 
firefox as default in gnome)

Please provide any additional information below.

Using Windows 7 and Mozilla 3.6.8 have EXACTLY the same issue.

Using Ubuntu 10.04 and FireFox as default browser as the exact same issue.

Hello,
I am using Ubuntu 12.04 LTS and GH doesn't open my default browser, Firefox 
13.0.1 with NoScript, HTTPS Everywhere plugins! 

Am I missing some libraries or what could be wrong? I did get an error while 
running ./GoogleHacks first time but that was resolved by installing one of the 
libraries (libstdc++5). I am using Unity 2.0 desktop environment.
