There doesn't seem to be any logging enabled for Django / gunicorn. Any error 500 leaves you scratching your head since nothing is logged.

Ran into the same problem, you should be able to log by setting the variable DJANGO_DEBUG, aka; export DJANGO_DEBUG=true
