Ensure no data loss between receiver and processor

I am trying to implement a otlp pipeline with otlp receiver and use a processor to validate stream of data and then export it to kafka. My question is how do I make sure no data is lost in pipeline. Suppose, I OTLP receiver got 100 requests at a time and 2 of them got stuck with processor due to some error. How does it affect other requests? In this scenario with processor block the pipeline? Any clarifications would be appreciated!! Thank you
