DB Schenker Rail and other operators have the need to equip quite a couple locomotives with ETCS OBUs within the next few years. In many cases non-recurring engineering cost and other one-time costs are often much higher than the equipment itself, due to lack of standardization between OBU vendors and locomotive designs. The goal of this project is to deliver a prototype retrofit design that later can be used by all operators simply because all interfaces will be made open and formalized so that operators can share those on-time cost in a way that even small series can be equipped more economically.
If you are interested to join, please feel free to specify your needs and we discuss different ways of potential cooperation.
We can do it in a double session (= 2h) and even extend it to the next day (Dec. 18).
