Supporting media URL and time offset

I read that there is an issue processing long input here which requires splitting audio: https://platform.openai.com/docs/guides/speech-to-text/longer-inputs

I wondered if it would be possible to pass an URL and giving an offset to start from to avoid the burden task of chunking audio files.
