Increase the rate of users who save a search on the Application detail page #1889

I've observed that the design I did for the Save this search is very bulky and possibly inappropriate level of priority. I've done a mock up of a more 'alert message' style that I think keeps this as an important element but doesn't dominate and create noise.

@JoannaHill could you please add a link to the design in figma. Also I think I'd really appreciate a design for the logged out state as it's not 100% obvious what to do. Thank you!

Just wishing to re-state the problem we're solving here as it started with a solution and has since raised many deeper questions.

Problem we're trying to solve
Maximise user's participation in civic action

Practically on the website this could either be:

  • A user saves a search alert
  • A user makes a comment

Both these things would be a positive sign of engagement in what's being built and knocked down in their area.
