when visiting the site, the english version was shown although my german settings…

This is a static site, so we can't look at headers and browser settings. We could of course write some JavaScript to redirect you automatically, but that's usually rather ugly. We've opted through #55 to switch to German as the default for now. Maybe we'll find a better solution in the future, at some point we might just host ourselves anyway, then we can use the Accept-Language header. But until then I'd say it's possibly only through bad design, which IMO isn't worth it. Is this fine for you?
