Additional Information

Anyone can submit production location data to Open Supply Hub. This includes researchers, civil society organizations, brands, and multi stakeholder initiatives.

In order to be issued an OSID, a production location must include the following data points:

  • Name
  • Address
  • Country

OS Hub does not enforce whether or not the submitted name is the legal name, or whether the submitted address is the registered address, or whether the production location is registered in any capacity (at the country level or the registration authority level).

OS Hub uses a mix of automated and human moderation to associate submissions with the same name at the same production location under one OS ID.

Geographic coordinates are typically added in the back end after a submission of address, name, and country for a specific production location.

Contributors to Open Supply Hub may also include additional data about production locations, including sector and parent company - the full list of accepted fields can be found here.

Once a production location has been added to Open Supply Hub's database, an individual representing the location can claim the location by submitting documentation that verifies their connection to the location. The claimant can then have a verified badge and add additional data to the location's profile.
