documentation for zfs on root on sysv init systems

I am looking for such an installation documentation.
I installed zfs on DEVUAN shortly, but I am unable the fix bugs and make it proper running.
(The latter may have been caused by my incompetent repair, after GRUB was unable to mount)
That is, probably the mount-oder and and what have to go probably to fastab
cannot be taken from a systemd installation.
Having such an installation part on 'openzfs.github.io' would be the best.
Pointers for such setups elsewhere could bridge the time ...
