Describe the bug

After installing OPNsense 24.1 on my hardware, there is no entry in the boot menu. According to the debug log, the efibootmgr utility throws the following error: efibootmgr: efi_get_variable: Bad address
This problem occurs with both the officially provided image and the image built from source.

To Reproduce

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. opnsense-installer
  2. All settings are default, the UFS file system
  3. Installation completed. Exit and reboot.
  4. After reboot: Please select boot device: there is no OPNsense or FreeBSD entry

Expected behavior

A working OPNsense or FreeBSD entry in the boot menu.
