Milestone Dewarping Overlay

Firstly, Axis support has suggested I enquire here, if I'm in the wrong place let me know.

We have a corporate overlay on our milestone system, basically overlays certain GDPR info onto every camera view, however if we use a Axis Dewarper view from the axis optimiser then the overlay doesnt work. Milestone have suggested that the dewarper plugin uses a different view type to the standard ImageViewer Class. I'm hoping to find out what is used so that we can look to include the dewarper int he scope of our plugin.

Axis does have an SDK for Dewarping, take a look here:

Regarding "dewarper plugin uses a different view type to the standard ImageViewer Class":
In my understanding, it is entirely different than ImageViewer Class because it is directly integrated with DirectShow.

Thanks for this info, it looks to be possible that I can send text to the camera using the vapix, howver in our usecase we only display the overlay on the viewing client and the overlay is not present within any saved footage.

I think with the way they vapix works having the text done a tthe camera level it will be present on the recorded footage.
There is also a lack of customisation with what you can display, we use it to create a barely noticeable overlay with the users current session details shown - to deterr from people making mobile recording of the screen.

Within our current overlay system the client handles the positioning of the text and as far as I can tell I just need to target the dewarper views class by name, hence my request.

Hi, I can confirm that the dewarping plugin doesn't support overlays. The plugin creates it's own rendering surfaces for performance reasons.

Can you show an example of what you plugin does for a better understanding?

It basically creates a grid of text containing the users details.
This is mainly used to discorage people taking mobile recordings, but also used for tracing and policy policing.

I have looked at using VAPIX to put the text firectly on the camera feed, however this doesn't play well when using PTZ or zooming in on the milestone client. when done on the client the text grid is fixed regardless of zoom or PTZ status.
