Dynamic overlay API : overlay image scaling

I use the Dynamic overlay API to set up image overlays.

I want the size of the overlay image to be scaled according to the output video size. However, the output from the camera will be either larger or smaller depending on the video size. I want to solve this problem.

Is there a way to enable scaling?

The overlay text is output in roughly the same position.
The font size will change though.

addText method don't accept the scalable parameters.

But when you use the list method the "scalable": true is there by default. It may be due to the hardware dependencies.

It looks like it is impossible to control this parameter at the moment using the Dynamic overlay APIs. Let me check if I can find more details about this.

I want the image scale, not the text scale. Do you have any information?
It is desirable to be able to set options with addImage and setImage methods.

All text overlays are scalable by default (although there is a minimal threshold so that the text will never be too small), and it is not possible to create a text overlay that is not scalable.

It would be interesting to know if there is any use case that a non-scalable text overlay is desired?

To have a scalable image overlay, that can be created by uploading an image overlay and mark it as “scale to resolution” (or use corresponding CGI).

I use M2036 LE.
There is no "scale with resolution" on the image upload screen.

Does this mean that I have no choice but to use the "corresponding CGI" you explained?

In my understanding, M2036 LE will not support the "scale with resolution" functionality. I am not sure but these are the reasons making me to guess:

Please give a try to the VAPIX APIs and check. Do share the error or response you get. Not sure if you are already using the latest Axis OS for the AXIS M2036 LE.

I used AXIS Virtual Loan Tool with AXIS M2035-LE Bullet Camera Model 8mm ( AXIS OS version 11.11.73)

The same elephant image failed to load 😢

I will update you once I have the confirmation or just ask your local Axis team for confirmation.

I understood from your explanation that the specifications of the overlay are different depending on the model of the camera. I've grown! Thank you.

My camera also showed "Image Size is too Large"
I searched for a size that would not cause an error and uploaded it at 400x160.

Please let me know if you have any further information on image overlay.
The actual camera used in operation is a different model number. I will look into that and report it to this thread.

Unfortunately, “scaleToResolution” is not supported on CV25 SOC. Do let me know the camera model used in the project.
