Unable to connect to Android 10.0 device with Appium when password is set #62

For Android 10.0 virtual devices specifically, if there is a password of any kind (PIN/pattern/alphanumeric), Appium cannot connect to the device at all. Steps to reproduce:
I also observed that this error is appearing repeatedly in the logcat for the device:
This same issue does not occur on your Android 7.1 os image. I've tried "manually" launching the io.appium.settings app using adb, and also uninstalling/reinstalling the io.appium.settings app with no luck. If the user manually unlocks the phone, then locks it again, everything starts working again as expected (i.e. Appium can connect, no errors in the logcat). I'd be glad to share any additional info as necessary. Thank you! |
