Hi @armorello! In the ManageIQ community we have and will continue to follow an "Upstream First" development model where all new features and bug fixes land in master in the upstream community and we will continue to maintain stable release branches where we will backport bug fixes. We have typically been creating a new release branch every 6 months. Speaking for the core maintainers we always review PRs with the best interest of the community. We love getting PRs from our community members and anything that makes sense for the project will be considered. We have had many contributions, from small enhancements to entire providers, which have been contributed by our community. Our project roadmap is public (https://manageiq.org/roadmap) and the community can help drive the direction, and our sprint reviews are also public. I hope that answered your questions if not feel free to ask them here! |

@agrare would it be safe to say that the future/roadmap of the project isn't really focused of any "downstream" plans of IBM's branch for cloudforums? |

Hi guys, I am wondering if this is the right forum place for this question but here it goes.
We have been using cloudforms for a while now as we are a RHEL shop for infra provisioning in our stack. We are looking to migrate to managed IQ due to an preference to avoid IBM now that you can't license cloudforms from RHEL any more.
Can anyone share some light on the operations of the open source project. We have been burned by IBMs hostile takeover of centos project already and have concerns about them trying something similar with managed IQ after doing a migration. Is this possible?
Thoughts? I was going to post on the talk forums but it seems like those are disabled now.
