VMware appliance give the error "Did not find an .ovf file at the beginning of the OVA package." when import on vmware

I try to use this appliance https://releases.manageiq.org/manageiq-vsphere-petrosian-1.ova. I have downloaded it and then try to load in vmware workstation and I have this message "Did not find an .ovf file at the beginning of the OVA package.".

I think that there is an issue with this ova file. When I use the last others version of appliance in ova format, I don't meet this issue.

Thanks for the report @sebrower - @agrare I think you've tried the ova, right? Have you seen this issue?

I just pulled down the same OVA file and it imported into a vSphere 7.0.3 system without issue. First thing I would check is if the file is corrupt can you verify the checksum?

$ sha256sum manageiq-vsphere-petrosian-1.ova 
c61c2f2d61aa1884e0040b38c653dce2fbaf7c8639ddae2eae43dad9a035f620  manageiq-vsphere-petrosian-1.ova

I had this same problem when importing into vmware workstation (vsphere image Quinteros-1).
Solution:
Extract the ova file:
tar -xvf manageiq-vsphere-quinteros-1.ova
desc.ovf
disk.vmdk
Open the desc.ovf file in vmware workstation to import the appliance.

With vSphere this is not necessary and you can import the ova file without unpacking it.
