Splitting recordings

I was wondering if there was a way to split a .cast file into partial files.

Ideally I'd like to pipe asciicast output to a stream that could be resumed partway through, which splitting the files would accomplish.

Similar request. Would like to be able automatically create a new file say every hour or at a specific file size.
