Make a presentation video

This discussion is about a presentation video for the DFC. We have a provider which has made a storyboard. The following images are extracted from the storyboard.

Following our last feedback, here are the 3 plans with color changes:

• Darker “DFC Standard” plan, more visible title, change in color of the spheres.
• Darker "Applications" plan, more visible icons and a 2nd version with 3 colors (shades of yellow, gray, white)
• "Short circuit" plan (some color changes), more visible titles and a 2nd version with 3 colors (shades of yellow, gray, white)

The font was changed to Poppins as agreed.

PS: As before, the characters have their arms spread out for simplicity.

I think my favorite style is scene 3.

Scene 3 seems better that scene 2 but scene 4 is better than scene 5 IMO :)

I find it hard to choose like this, it looks like each plan has it own styleguide. Could we have the same scenes for comparison?

What I mean is, scene 3 and 4 are not made with the same color plan - Is that a correct understanding? If so, it would help me to visualize the same scene with the 2 plan to help me choose between the 2.

I had our provider on the phone.

• Scene 2 and scene 4 are the same style;
• Scene 3 and scene 5 are the same style;
• Scene 1 has one style because it will look very like the same in the other styles.

A color palette contains generally 4 or 5 colors, that's why we are seeing more colors on scenes with more objects.

They can mix scene 4 and scene 5 when making the video.

So as the deadline for feedback is passed, I think we can use the style of scene 3 and move forward to a first video sprint, right?

I don't understand if it is a final shot or a draft so perhaps my following remarks are not OK
For Scene 1 :

I don't like the writting "DFC STANDARD" For the Colours we have a Graphic Charter on our web site that they must adopt, no ?.

For the rest : I prefer scene 3 and I still maintain that we need more contrast.

On my side I think it turns out better than I've expected. The style is a bit "dull" / "tateless" but thanks to the animation it's less visible. I like how they played with the logo.

Can we add logos from the FDC side as well?

Hi @lecoqlibre, very nice: simple and efficient. I was also skeptical but the video works fine. I still think that the colors are too light and "sad" but it is homogeneous. Great work!

I'm pleasantly surprised. I have a few regrets, such as the lack of consideration for logistics players, but overall it does the job.

The result is very nice, just I find that some pictograms at the end do not match the style of the beginning, around 1 min 50.

Thank you for your feedback, I also like the video and how it plays with the logo. I agree that sometimes it's hard to read text like for instance on the first plan.

I would add some more comments:

• 00:14: a corn field is showed but I would prefer something less "industrial".
• 00:16: maybe we should display below the icons the words that are said "sales, logistics, accounting and management, spreadsheets, apps and platforms"?
• 00:35: the logo animation is maybe a little too long?
• 00:49: I would like the interoperability to be more visible, maybe with moving green arrows replacing the red crosses.
• 00:54: I would also add moving green arrows to show data transfer
• 01:13: maybe display the words "sales, accounting, etc"
• 01:24: maybe show the data circulation between applications (green arrow)?
• 02;14: display our values as text? Add our slogan.

@simonLouvet what do you have in mind regarding logistics players? In this video we wanted to stay general. The details of logistic could be explained in a dedicated video.

In general it's cool :)

We still have an issue with contrast in the first three plans (from 00:00 to 00:10). I showed the video to a friend which told me, without I need to ask, that the contrast should be fixed. Especially since these plans are the beginning of the video.

Here are my comments:

• 00:12: The biodiversity is better but the ground is still too industrial. It's the same ground we have in a mono-cultural field. We should better have something more natural. I would love to see some water and birds. Maybe something closer to a garden forest? Something full of life.
• 00:36: The plan seems still to long.
• 00:49: I liked when the bee was going to the DFC logo that was on the top right corner of the plan but it has been removed?
• 00:52: The green tick are better and I would love to see data circulate like in the next plan.
• 01:28: The private data plan is still too long. I think the locking can happen just after the voice say "retained".
• 02:10: I thing the slogan can be displayed sooner, maybe from the beginning of the plan?

Sorry Maxime, it was very difficult for me to meet this deadline this week. I'm aligned with your comments and would say that the contrast is indeed the biggest problem. Not only in terms of accessibility but also to face various screen quality.

Is it also planned as a French audio version to attract French platforms more easily?
At 1 min 40 seconds, I would have added logistics in addition to farm management accounting and institutional system.

From @helenef29: I find that the orange is not strong enough. Did they get the exact color codes from our logos? In addition, the style of the typo for the translation is a bit "old-fashioned". Is it possible to have a simple typo on a darker background but with transparency?
