OK, so I'm not exactly sure what happens, but I hope I can get some help to figure it out. Maybe it's a bug, maybe it's a configuration issue, maybe it's a compatibility issue or perhaps a driver problem. Not sure.
I run Linux Mint 21.2. Here is my uname -a: Linux TTDPC001 6.2.0-26-generic #26~22.04.1-Ubuntu SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Thu Jul 13 16:27:29 UTC 2 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
In order to work reasonably OK with my hardware I had to use Kernel 6.2 (installed with the normal Update Manager).
I use the built in GPU cores in the CPU (AMD Ryzen 7700X). It works good for the most part, and I use two displays attached without problem.
However when Cinnamon restarts, either manually (Ctrl+Alt+Esc) or more commonly when trying to log in after the computer being locked I'm not getting back to the desktop. Instead all displays are covered with white (or perhaps very light gray). I have a mouse cursor and I can kind of interact with the (now hidden behind the white color pane) applications. I can force cinnamon to restart by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Esc and then I can see the applications behind for about a second or so, but then when Cinnamon starts up again I just see white again.
Is this a known issue? Is there a way I can find out more what happens? Maybe it crashes, is there some way to extract logs from Cinnamon?
