Sending SIGHUP to openbao running in a kubernetes pod

Hi community 👋

According to the documentation a log rotating service needs to send the SIGHUP to the openbao instance. Since my logrotate service is running as a DeamonSet on the cluster level I cannot directly kill the bao process with kill -SIGHUP $(pidof bao). Do you know a workaround?

From my experience, there are two ways to manage this.

• Send everything to stdout and filter the logs from there before shipping them to your SIEM. This has been my preferred solution so far.

• Alternatively, run a logrotate container as a sidecar to OpenBao. But one would have to keep that running, I never found a well maintained logrotate container image that I'd feel comfortable deploying aside OpenBao.
