U-Boot and Linux not coming up #204
-
I'm trying to get the PolarFire kit back to factory setup and have it boot U-Boot and how something on UART2/3 and bring up Linux on UART1. I have tried following the instructions found here without any success. I have used v2022.05, v2022.08, and v2021.04 base design for the FPGA image. For the Linux version I have tried v2022,05 and 2021.05 all with no success. I am including screen shots from the console output on UART0 below to give the full output information. Any help getting U-Boot and/or the Linux image working on this board again would be greatly appreciated. |

On Icicle kit The first two serial ports are used when booting Linux. MMUART0 displays the zero stage bootloader (HSS log what you have captured) and U-Boot and Linux messages gets displayed MMUART1. So in order to see UBoot messages you need to open two putty or TeraTerm terminals for the two UART ports MMUART0 and MMUART1. Linux messages will appear on second serial port after UBoot messages. Are you seeing following messages on first serial port ? once u see a similar log in first serial port, after this rest of the messages will appear from UBoot on second serial port. Pls share complete log of both 1st and 2nd serial port. This is procedure all described here ==

Just to double check on your non-working board, are you programming the Linux Image in eMMC or in the SD card ? Just make sure you are copying the .wic (and NOT the .wic.gz file) using usbimager to the emmc/SD card . If problem is not resolved than someone needs to take a look in your setup. Pls create a Tech Support case. |
