Online Meeting Summaries
To make our work more transparent and easier to engage with, we've setup a discussion area on Github at: https://github.com/orgs/rsmp-nordic/discussions. This will also be where we post meeting summaries. We plan to link to the discussion area from our website.
NordicWay3 - ESTI converters
C-ITS pilot project to us ETSI message for requesting signal priority in intersections.
Vehicles will read MAP files and send requests. Request will be end up at the road authorities systems. Most equipment can receive RMSP, so the central system will ingest ETSI messages and send RSMP commands to the controllers to request priority logic.
You're not gaurantee priority, it's just a request.
Priority System Provider ---> ETSI ---> Interchange ---> ETSI --> Road authority ---> RSMP --> Intersection
Translating of ETSI messages to RSMP messages is not trivial.
Dedicated RMSP messages for priority has been added to the spec. But they are not implemented by suppliers or TLCs yet, so NordicWay does not plan to use them yet.
There might be a need for further alignment of statuses between RSMP/ETSI.
Next step will hopefully be a pilot project in the fall.
Working on adding data to MAP files to make the conversion to RMSP command easier.
In France ETIS messages are converted to the protocol that the TLCs use - this is parallel to what is planned in NordicWay3.
There is also work on how to convert RSMP messages to ETSI SPAT messages, for example for data about predicted green times.
MAP data
Maintaining MAP data is hard when you have a lot of intersections.
Lyon has been working on a system that makes the maintenance easier. It collects data from equipment and essentially produce MAP files.
