Downloading historic data
rsmp-nordic/rsmp_core#167
Originally, the idea was that the equipment would send all data via subscriptions. But then you must subscribe to everything that you might eventually need.
If the network is down for a long time, there might be more data than can be buffered, and you can loose data.
Downloading historic data could solve some of these issues, but there is some overlap with the buffer mechanism.
Would this feature fit better for RSMP 4 where the buffering is different anyways?
We currently don't have any concept for prioritizing buffered messages. This can cause issues when the buffer is full, and you might loose important data.
There are log files that you can't currently subscribe to via RSMP, but which are needed. Today that are downloaded via proprietary mechanisms like FTP, SSH, etc. Logfiles can include things like alarms, plan changes, errors, signal group status. Some this data can be fetched via existing RSMP status and alarm messages, e.g. S014 to fetch plan changes.
Normi will look into what data they are currently missing, e.g. debug info, log files, etc. Work with La Semaphorica. Input can be added to this issue (or brought to the next meeting):
