Effectively, a 1:1 match of https://www.google.com/business

  • Simple sign in (facebook or google oauth) (see also Allow one click 'import' from google my business API; facebook site API #19)
  • Ability to find an existing Node or Way that is mapped for a business; associate it with a login
  • Ability to see a list of 'my' submitted businesses
  • Simple controls to close a business, update details, attach a photo (post to openstreetcam/mapillary?)

The output could still probably be a user note indicating the change(s) and linking back to onosm.org.

Obviously this would be a very large undertaking and require more resources (DB/persistence layer/etc) than are currently present

Being able to use imported data would be a great time saver. Maybe even give POI managers the ability to save a local copy of location data. The location data could uploaded, updated using the existing interface and then used to generate a Note with the new data. Creating a complete copy of business service is probably overkill. Especially since it would be a nightmare in terms of all the identity management laws OSM would be exposed to.
