Since the update of the desktop app to Owncloud version -5.3.1.14018.x64, while owncloud is running, it is frequently using a large % of CPU resources causing windows explorer and other applications to hang.

Quiting the client or uninstalling the client and the problem goes away.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app but the problem remains.

-->

Steps to reproduce

  1. Upgrade or install client
  2. Oper desktop client

Client configuration: Version 5.3.1.14018.x64

Operating system: Windows 10 Pro

OS language: English

I transferred this to the desktop client repo, as the report is about that software.

@TayloredMedia Please describe what the client is displaying while its cpu load is high (the view displaying the folder and the progress bar etc).
It could also help if you could upload logs https://doc.owncloud.com/desktop/next/appendices/troubleshooting.html#log-files to

I replied to the email received on the 12th Ausust but my reply does not appear here.
the reply was as follows:
Whenever Ownlcoud is trying to sync it causes high CPU usage and programs to hang or crash.

Attached are screenshots of Windows Task Manager showing Owncloud High CPU usage and soon after Owncloud not responding.
This also causes windows explorer and other programs to hang or crash.

There are 5 log files in the owncloud Temp directory.
the owncloud .log is too large to email - 87 MB
There are four other log.gz zip files all about 10 MB which one do you want?

I have not received a reply and the problem remains.

The High CPU load is displayed every time owncloud is preparing to sync and syncing. This occurs every 3 to 5 minutes. It causes owncloud to stop responding as well as windows explorer and other applications.

I have uploaded the log files to the share folder as indicated in your request.
