Present mode erasing doesn't work?

In Presentation Mode (so accessing 10.11.99.1:2001/?present=<url>) it seems that the eraser and other events that would normally clear the screen buffer are ignored?

For example, when I am in Presentation Mode, and flip to a new blank page on my reMarkable, the old annotations remain. They also cannot be cleared by the reMarkable "erase all" action. Or by the stylus in eraser function.

I noticed it yesterday, I cheated by hiding the screen (gesture from bottom left to top right and bottom right to top left).
