Setup SharePoint Tenant
The SharePoint Framework is currently in Preview, and is subject to change based on customer feedback. While we’re in preview, SharePoint Framework web parts are not supported for use in production environments.
In order to build and deploy web parts in SharePoint during initial preview, you will need an Office 365 Developer Tenant.
You can skip to the next section if you already have an Office 365 developer tenant.
If you do not have one, then you can sign up for the Office Developer Program here. You should receive a welcome mail with a link to sign up for an Office 365 developer tenant.
Please ensure you are signed out of any existing Office 365 tenants to complete the setup successfully.
Once you have signed up for the developer tenant and your SharePoint setup is complete, you can follow the steps below to configure app catalog, developer site collection and upload SharePoint Workbench. We'll be streamlining these steps over the next while.
You will need an app catalog setup to be able to upload and deploy client-side solution. You can skip to the next section if you already have an app catalog setup.
If you do not have an app catalog setup for your developer tenant, then follow the steps below to create the app catalog.
Navigate to SharePoint Admin Center by typing the following URL in your browser.
Replace
yourtenantprefix

If you do not have a developer site collection, then follow the steps below to create the developer site collection.
Navigate to SharePoint Admin Center by typing the following URL in your browser.
Replace
yourtenantprefix
