Unable to parse html content

On clicking the above email, the app breaks down and stops responding to any touch feedback.

There is no breaking error on the console I suspect this issue is due to html content of the mail. The same mail shows up like this on the edison mail app

Also in the webmail of iitk interestingly these are the views in html and plain text, respectively
