I am getting about 0.5 km range on CH_08_900 and other settings at current defaults. This is in an urban setting, houses and small buildings blocking, but no hills. Tested on a bike ride. Using small spiral wire antennae soldered to the radio boards. Need to test in a more open setting. Possibly need better antennae, perhaps just the one on the base station? Also consider shielding on the radio board.

Check antenna ground may need to be different from circuit ground.
