Add Api/Endpoint to reach "About Pega" or "System Information" resources

Can we add an endpoint to the REST API to query for information which is generally served on the About Pega 7 page or the System Information page? This would allow folks, and dev-ops automation, to query a given system for the currently loaded (e.g. coreAssembly_HEAD_123) build along with major/minor version (e.g. 07.03.01).
