chat not found even though it's found

Steps to Reproduce

Visit https://www.pennyuniversity.org/chats/240/ You might need to be signed in as me because it was a Private chat. If that's the case, then you'll probably need to find one of your own private chats and see if this problem is reproducible.

When I go to that page the chat loads successfully, but I get an error on the bottom and the JS console says that /api/chats/240 returned a 404. How's this possible?

Strangely, I was not able to reproduce this just now with one of my own private chats.

Actually, I was just able to recreate it when clicking on the "Write A Follow Up" button from slack. This behavior does not happen if you navigate to the chat from the chats list.
