For my work I need to open 3D datasets stored in .tif format. I have been adapting your code to allow me to do so.

I need to test the changes on your /test/ files, to check that I haven't broken your code. After I do that, I'd love for us to submit this package to JuliaObserver.

Hi, glad to hear that this code was useful to you. Since I'm currently not using Julia, it may be better if you just fork this project and maintain it?
