Correcting time of imported activity

When I sync a workout that I started at 9pm it will upload to garmin as a completed activity the next day at 5am, its not a big deal at all as it is very easy to fix this in editing the activity but wondering if there is an easy change that would correct this.

Ok I read the same comment to crtvxdesign and tried it, going to go do a ride and try I just copied the line and changed the city to Los Angeles since I am in CA

Ok I am still struggling with this, it appears that when I sync an activity it posts it 8 hour ahead of the actual time, I tried the
env:
TZ: America/Los Angeles
but I must be putting this is the wrong location in my fork or something, please help
