Hi everyone.

I have been a translator member for many years, although I have been inactive for a while.

The leaders who previously directed the translation project, such as Yago Ferrer, or Pedro Antonio Gil Rodríguez, are no longer in the project. Pedro Antonio Gil Rodríguez a few weeks ago that he sent the last message from him informing that he was unsubscribe for personal reasons.

From then on, I see that now the translation seems to be done from Github, when no one has informed us of it. There are new members active on Github that have never been introduced, and I don't know if this no longer needs to be done because it was mandatory before.
Currently, the Spanish translation mailing list does not work either, or at least at this time it gives an error when sending a message.

Can someone tell me who now leads the working group and how this project is being coordinated?

Thanks and greetings to all.

Not part of the Spanish team (and I can't read Spanish) but if you need access to contribute let me know and I'll figure out a way to get you into the org so you can contribute again (as I jsut realised the state of the Spanish doc are worrying)

What is the mailinglist address that you've been trying to use? We've tested it with the [email protected] one, and that seems fine. Is it a @lists.php.net hosted one?

I've just trying writing to the [email protected] one, and the email arrived: https://news-web.php.net/php.doc.es

Hello, I'm Waldo. I contributed to the translation of the PHP manual into Spanish. I've been part of the community since Yago's time. If there isn't currently a Spanish translation coordinator to fill Yago's role, I would appreciate the opportunity to take on that responsibility.

Hola, soy Waldo.

@Girgias, if you can help so we can get back to working on updating the documentation in Spanish that would be great.

@argosback sure! Please send me an email to [email protected] so that I can add you to a Slack channel where various translation contributors are :)

I strongly recommend that those pages which are outdated for a long time to be renamed (to .old for example) or deleted, so that they fall back to their English versions. There may be a lot of people using information referencing PHP from very old times.

When the pt_BR (Brazilian Portuguese) was very outdated, we opted to rename the most outdated pages to ".old" so that they fell back to the English version, yet keeping most of the hard work stored for future reference when updating.
