Creating an issue in case anyone else is googling for this happening to them as well and so we have a place to document if this is happening to anyone else. It's at least 100% reproducible for me every time:
If you have a MIDI track with a plugdata-fx VST3 instance on it and attempt to drag the midi clip from the arrangement view into a custom folder in the Places Sidebar to create a .alc preset file, Ableton instantly hard crashes.
I've shared bug reports with Ableton support and they can confirm it's plugdata causing the crash (albeit I still feel like Ableton should be handling the error somehow and not hard crashing, but I digress).
I'm on MacOS 14.5 with Ableton 12.1.5 using Plugdata v0.9.1
