I am using Gentoo and OpenRC as my service manager. I haven't figured out how to start pipewire as a user service. Cosmic does not seem to support the /xdg/autostart convention. Therefore, I just run gentoo-pipewire-launcher & after logging into my user account manually.
Until I run the command, cosmic-osd will hog >100% of my CPU as reported by htop. The mouse movements become super laggy. This issue goes away as soon as I start the pipewire daemon in user space. This looks like a polling/checking issue in some kind of loop to me.
Information
OS: Gentoo
Kernel: 6.6.62-gentoo-dist
Cosmic: alpha4
