The design of Popcorntime for Android is very outdated and still looks like Material Design 1, with important pages hidden behind a menu, the shadow, colors and spacing looking and feeling weird and the entire UX being confusing and hard to use.
I recommend making the UI conform to the Material Design 3 guidelines and improving the UX by for example putting the movie / tv shows / anime in a bottom navigation bar, and to display the movies in rows: for each tab one row (Trending / Popular etc.) In the top app bar is the place for your logo, with a settings button next to it on the right. Search goes underneath this in expanded form.
This + the addition of a download button would make this an app something anyone can use, so it's free AND easy to watch the "hidden behind expensive paywalls" content whereever or whenever.
