Main directory can't be created

Hi, I would like to use your project for my first Elisp package but
When I call erk-new and I fill all the info then it fails on:
erk-new: Setting current directory: No such file or directory, ~/Code/Elisp/eglot-clj-project-tree/ecp-tree
ecp-tree is the name of feature I chose during initialization.

When I try to create ecp-treefolder and run the command with the same arguments again, then I get:
fatal: destination path '~/Code/Elisp/eglot-clj-project-tree/ecp-tree' already exists and is not an empty directory.

I am on macosx if it makes any difference.
