Reject configuration with unknown fields

Enable strict YAML parsing, so that mapping configs with unexpected fields throw an error. This would make problems like in #544 much much easier to spot.

This is a potentially-breaking change (but only in the sense that your configuration no longer silently does something you didn't expect), we can note it as such in the changelog.
