i did fork the repo and updated the code to svelte 5. for my use cases it works, but if anything does yet not work you can tell me

Awesome thank you. I got an ownership_invalid_binding warning on bind:selectedItem in the parent in @eikaramba's version, but it went away with @NormandoHall's version. Either way, thanks to you both, and I hope the changes make it back upstream.
