Feature description

Incude libraries enabling viewing of Raw fines, and tagging in xmp sidecars so that adding species metadata does not only apply to JPGs

Use case

Integration of species labelling into lightom for raw images.

Workarounds

Not that I can find - can only see jpgs in GUI no ability to view other file types.

Thanks for the feedback! This is something on my radar (#232), but there is quite a bit of work to do to get there. I'll revisit this within the next few weeks to look into it some more.

As a workaround in my own workflow, I have raw + jpg pairs with the same base filename, so tagging the jpg creates a sidecar that also applies to the raw file. Example:

2025-01-01_12-02-44-01.jpg
2025-01-01_12-02-44-01.ORF # or other raw extension
2025-01-01_12-02-44-01.xmp

But of course that wouldn't help if you only have raw files and no corresponding jpg files.
