Are there global environments?

Hi,
Is there such a thing as “global environments”? So creating a few environments that are not tied to a project? Use case here is that I normally have an isolated environment for xonsh and some other tools. I don't really feel like pipx would be the right tool here, because I'd like to have a few other packages in the same environment, so I can use them together with xonsh (like pandas).

Or should I just create a dummy project that contains nothing but a pyproject.toml to do this?

Maybe it is a stupid question, since I've been using Hatch for only 8 hours so far (love it, and already uninstalled pyenv and poetry btw.).

There is no such concept but that is an interesting idea so I'll consider this!

I currently do use pipx to do this. Not a great solution, since I cannot easily do this for different python versions. But since I use the same python for all my "global things" at the moment it works. The clumsiness of this approach kind of feels a bit like pipx's fault though, for not playing well with multiple installed pythons.
