Follow-up from pypa/setuptools#4418, this is actually the opposite of #693
When installing a simple package with console script, e.g.
from setuptools import setup setup( name="package", version="0.0.1", entry_points={"console_scripts": ["test_python_debug_main = package.main:main"]}, )
using python_d.exe -m pip install ..., the generated .exe wrapper point to python.exe instead of python_d.exe.
python_d.exe -m pip install ...
.exe
python.exe
python_d.exe
