I found the backups of the original torrents as well as the preferences file. How do I go about loading that preferences file into the new qbittorent? Also, how do I get it to read the information in the default file folders? Nothing has been moved, its like its just ignoring it. The data is right where it should be: C:\Users<username>\AppData\Roaming\qBittorrent and C:\Users<username>\AppData\Local\qBittorrent But it appears that now qbittorent isnt looking for the data there, and I cant find any way to change its directories. |

This: Appears to be what actually happened. Except all the data is right there where it should be, I have uninstalled and reinstalled past versions and new versions and qBittorent just doesnt care that its right there. How is this possible? Its not looking for its own data in its own default directories. OK. But how do I tell it to start looking for the data it wants in the place that it wants it to be in? No way to change the directory, no way to manually add in the old data to a new location? What in the world? |

Not possible. Maybe you missed something? Likely an issue on your end, moving to discussions for now. Here, other users may help you getting your setup working correctly. If you do uncover an actual bug in the troubleshooting process, please submit a new issue report (one may be created for you also). |

OK. So no bug happened, but somehow qbittorent just stopped reading the folder where it is supposed to be getting the data from? And changed its appearance upon a simple restart. So I dont know what to call that, but I guess its not a bug. Regardless. Does anyone know how I can make qbittorrent see the data for the torrent files in its own directory? Order of events: I restart qbittorent. Appearance is completely different. So I dunno if that is a bug or perhaps as you suggested perhaps I dont know how to restart a program and I restarted qbittorent incorrectly and caused it to delete all my transfers except for 4 random ones. This seems like a spectacular messup on my end, wouldnt you say? -oh yea, and there are also entire threads where people are discussing this random crash happen to them.....very similar to what happened to me. But thanks for that helpful response there. Totally not a bug, all my fault. |

Maybe you're running it in portable mode (there's a folder named
That is indeed weird... but not unheard of. There were others reports about this but i don't think the cause was ever found, although the reports stopped a while ago. |

What is the problem
I closed down qtorrent to transfer some files. When I reopened it, the interface was all different, and most all my pending transfers were all gone, except for 4 random transfers. All the downloaded data is still in the unfinished folder, just the torrents are gone.
I tried to find where the backups are, but cant find any.
I figured this was weird because I have been declining this update. It force updated on my machine, clearly as the interface completely changed, but it still said I had to update.
So I tried updating to newest version. Still all gone but the 4 random transfers it decided to not delete.
So I guess my question is, where can I find all the magnet torrents for the unfinished torrents? I still have the data for the ones that had started to be downloaded, but apparently the hundreds of torrents yet to start are just gone? I cant even remember what had finished and what hasnt, just all gone?
How did qbittorrent download and update without my permission and then require me to do it again and finish it?
